What you'll need
Australia's passenger-transport rules vary by state. Here is the full checklist for Queensland — if you are in another state, talk to us and we will confirm what applies.
- Current Australian driver licence
- State passenger-transport driver authorisation (e.g. QLD Driver Authorisation, or Booked Hire Service Licence for your state)
- Commercial passenger vehicle insurance — CTP (third-party personal injury) plus comprehensive
- Vehicle registration — must meet age and roadworthiness standards for your service area
- ABN — required; GST registration if your turnover is $75,000 or above
- Valid right to work in Australia
- NDIS Worker Screening and/or Working With Children Check — required for tours or services involving children or NDIS participants
